Our neat fitted and classically Western styled shirt, is a true wardrobe staple, which will see you through many an adventure. 

Featuring a pointed collar, Western yoke, and sawtooth pockets equipped with a double buttoned barrel cuff. Presented in a shade of dark navy blue, and finished with British made corozo buttons.

Exclusively woven in Japan for The Merchant Fox, on original narrow width and low speed shuttle looms, for the most authentic appearance and handle. The shirt is then expertly cut and sewn, in County Durham, from indigo chambray. 

The high-quality Japanese denim, provides the piece with a unique colour, texture, and style. Offering its unique detailing, through the best use of Japanese denim materials. Ultimately producing an artisan garment, which can be worn on its own, or over a plain t-shirt as part of a casual outfit.

The yarn is hand dyed using natural indigo, so we therefore advise to take extra care  when washing the garment. The shirt should be washed separately in cool water. Overtime, natural colour loss may occur, which will create a beautiful patina unique to each garment.

The western shirt was first established during the beginning of the 19^th century. A time commonly referred to as 'the conquest of the West'. The outposts from that era, gladly welcomed the settlers with their cosmopolitan and cultural mix, which ultimately resulted in the creation of the very first western style shirt.

This fashionable garment is said to have gained its inspiration, from combining traditional Mexican styled shirts, which were once worn by ‘the vaqueros’ (cowboys), with that of shirt designs worn by ‘Confederate’ soldiers throughout the American Civil War. The western shirt soon became a staple piece for American colonists and future groups of cowboy outlaws.

Nowadays, western shirts are often produced to be durable and robust with a denim look, perfect to see the real workwear gentleman through many adventures.

We now collect the VAT based on the country from which you place your order.

UK Shipping - £8.50 + VAT on all orders within mainland UK except furniture. 

Services to Russia

Due to the ongoing situation surrounding Russia, we shall not be offering shipment of any of our products to the country.

Whilist we are closely monitoring the events and circumstances, this shipping suspension will remain in place for the foreseeable future. However, should there be any further changes to this development, we will keep you informed.

Import regulations and duties

If you order goods from our site for delivery outside the UK & EU they may be subject to import duties and taxes which are levied when the delivery reaches the specified destination. You will be responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes. Please note that we have no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount. Please contact your local customs office for further information before placing your order.

In the unlikely event that you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, please contact us within 14 days of receipt and we would be happy to assist you with your return.

If you would like us to arrange your return shipment please get in contact. The cost of the return will be deducted from your refund or invoiced separately.

Custom & Personalised orders

We cannot accept returns on any made-to-order or customised pieces. However, we are of course more than happy to accept returns on pre-order items and in stock products.
